How do you like your lights?

ImageNow it’s time for that all important question…how do you like your Christmas lights? Icicle lights are very popular in our area. Of course, since we Mentink’s are rarely in step with what’s popular, we go with the old fashioned bigger bulbs. What about you?

I always like the single candle light in each window both upstairs and downstairs plus a wreath with red ribbon at each downstairs window.

We enjoy the simple effect of a simple electric menorah in our bay window. Surrounded by so many beautiful lights in our warm neighborhood, it provides a little difference.

My husband was all keen to get the new LED lights since they are more efficient and supposedly last longer … though I question that as we have had 2 strings of green blow out now. The animated icicle lights are the new thing around here, where the lights go down the icicle (presumably to make it look like it’s dripping). We have the old fashioned icicle kind … you know, the ones from a year or two ago !

By animated, I mean the lights are synchronized to go on and off such that it looks like it’s moving down the length of the icicle, it’s only an on/off thing (my hubby things calling them “animated” is a tad misleading !).
