Those Guatemalan snakes are serious!

Yes, I’m still knee deep in research and today’s interesting fact? Guatemala is home to the barba amarilla considered to be one of the most venomous snakes in the world. I am sure one of these critters will wind up slithering into a scene or two! Here in Northern, CA, We don’t have too many dangerous animals besides rattlesnake on some of our hiking trails and black widows. There is the odd mountain lion sighting, too.

What are the dangerous critters in your area?

Cottonmouth, Copperhead and Rattlesnakes all live in NC. Fortunately I’ve never seen any.

So you are thinking of using a snake in you book. YUK! Anyone here remember a scene in Dr. No, an early James Bond film staring Sean Connery. He was sent to the West Indies and someone was attempting to kill him by placing a tarantula in his bed and in another film “Live and Let Die’ someone tried to kill him by placing a Coral snake in his bathroom. Then of course, there’s Indiana Jones and he just hates snakes!

Some of the drivers in my neighborhood …. seriously though, we have had some huge nasty raccoons that came up from the storm drain (just to show you how tough they are) and they are not intimidated by humans. I got home late from the office on morning and two of them were by my front door looking me down. They won. I stayed in my car until they left.
