Has spring sprung for you?

This is the time of year I feel guilty for living in a place with near perfect weather. While some folks are still languishing under snow, we are enjoying almost 70 degree days. Daffodils are waving their yellow heads. Hyacinth perfume the air and the grass is green, green, green. Mind you the green won’t last as we’ve had a very poor rainfall, so soon our hills will be golden again. Here are my five signs that spring has sprung.

1. Fantastic color from the bulbs that sproinged to life right before our eyes.

2. California poppies are peeping up on the hillsides.

3. Wee little bottles of allergy medicine can be seen in all the Mentink medicine cabinets.

4. Scratching sounds are coming from Boydie the box turtle’s slumber house. Hope she’s waking up!

5. I have the urge to clean out the closets.

So what’s the first sign of spring where you are?

I live in the Arizona desert and the California poppies are blooming and I see a lot of bees in my yard and flowers.

Spring springs early here in the Heart of Carolina. Flowering trees and shrubs have been blooming now for about 2 weeks. Of course, there are tons of flowering trees here and they bloom in stages so there is always some type of tree in bloom right through to the end of summer. Then there are the flowers. My favorites are the Azaleas (huge bushes of them) and the Crepe Myrtle trees.
