Quick….the top three books that changed you….

We’ve all got them, those books that simply will not leave our hearts and minds long after we’ve finished the last page. Think back over your lifetime as a reader. What are the three fiction books that come to mind that changed you in some way? Here are my three…

The Wizard of Oz, L. Frank Baum ( I was captured by the vivid, playful imaginary world he created.)

Little Bee, Chris Cleave  (human frailties and heroism painted in breathtaking detail.)

Rebecca, Daphne  du Maurier (an entire novel where we do not know the protag’s name, yet I felt every chill, every tremor she experienced.)

    1) Great Expectations – Great Dickens book filled with twists and turns and everything and everybody tied together in the end.
    2) Grapes of Wrath – couldn’t put it down first of many times read.
    3) The Good Earth – one man’s stuggles to build a legacy for his family, only to have his family eventually abandon it.
Love the characters of all the books, and I sometimes reflect on them an analogize to real life people and encounters.
