A seven dollar flea market find is a treasure in disguise….

She bought the painting at a flea market for seven dollars because she liked the frame. She was about to rip out the canvas when her mother urged her to get it appraised first. Her seven dollar flea market bargain turned out to be a Renoir, valued in the neighborhood of 100,000 dollars. Even more amazing, there is now a suspicion that the piece was stolen six decades earlier from an art museum. This is the stuff fine suspense novels are made of. It’s certainly the kind of story that inspired my treasure seekers series. The truth really is WAY stranger than fiction, don’t you think?

Absolutely! I, on the other hand, tend to buy a potential Ming vase for $100, only to find out it is a $5.00 carnival prize!
