Aliens and vampires on the best-seller list this week….

Me? I’m not a paranormal fan, but I can appreciate how the genre has taken off as witnessed by sales figures. Let’s dive into the New York Times Best-seller list for this week, shall we? Here are the top five!
1. Lover At Last, J.R. Ward. This is the 11th book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series features vampire soldiers.
2. The Host, Stephanie Meyer. She’s off and running with a new novel about aliens who have taken over most humans and the one woman who is resisting.
3. Six Years, Harlan Coben, Jake Fisher discovers his past is not what it seemed.
4. The Wanderer, Robyn Carr. Man inherits a beach from property and winds up responsible for the community’s destiny.
5. Falling Into You, Jeaniene Frost. Psychic with vampire lover in the crosshairs of a killer.

So that seems to me we’ve got three otherworldly type situations, a small town romance and a thriller. What type of books do you like? Do share.

I had to read the Host for my book club, and I reluctantly did … and really enjoyed it. There was a lot more to it than just aliens – questions of morality, and what makes one human, etc.
I really rid a bit of almost anything … more fiction than non, but still about 1/3 non-fiction (love biographies). I’m currently reading an indepth book about the protest/hacktivist group “Anonymous”. The library and I are good friends, and I love the process of physical browsing, as I always find interesting things that I would never choose just from the on-line blurb.
(And my guilty pleasure is People magazine …).

    • You know, Suzan, I’ve heard that Stephanie Meyer is quite a talented author. Maybe I’ll have to give that a try.

Ooooh the library is the BEST! I was just there this morning! 🙂
