Novels…with a side of fruitcake and sleighbells?

 

 

 

Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling when you head to your favorite bookstore? Yep, it’s time for publishers to offer their feast of holiday themed books. Starting last month, bells, wreaths, fruitcakes and other yuletide themes began creeping into our fiction titles. I’ve never written a holiday themed book until now. My newest suspense, Dangerous Tidings, takes place at Christmas time in the southern California resort town of Coronado (and yes, I did enjoy the research for that one!) In the novel, it’s a difficult time for protagonist Donna and her sisters as they deal with the loss of their father. Holidays can be especially difficult for the grieving, can’t they? It was interesting to write a book that takes place at what is supposed to be a time of celebration, but instead is a period of deep struggle.
