Tell me about your wacky pets!

In honor of National Pet Day this weekend, I’m surveying my blogger family about their animal family members. At Mentink Manor, we’ve got a box turtle currently in hibernation, and a new puppy ready to shock the stuffing out of that turtle when she emerges from her winter’s nap. We’ve also got a parakeet who has laid 14 eggs, to date.
So what about you? Tell me one funny fact about your pet and you’re entered to win a signed book and an IHOP gift card next week.

Domino and Dodger are both 1-year-old cats. They always love to lay on me, but when I am laying down reading a book, they wiggle to get in front of me to sit right in front of the book. I think they are telling me, they want to read as well. They put their paw on the book so I won’t turn the page on them. 🙂 This happens every time I am reading. Love my fur babies so much. They love reading like their mama. 😀

When my dog Willie was young, he would take my paperback books out in the yard and proceed to trash them. I can’t tell you how many books I had to go to the bookstore to finish reading the last chapter. I learned to put them up out of his reach.
He was a very active Jack Russell terrier.

I have a cat who is psychotic! She runs and hides whenever she hears someone coming up the drive or entering the house. We do not see her until they are gone.
However, she does know when a storm is coming. If we see her doing the “army belly craw” and finding a place to hide we know it is going the storm. She loves only me! Smart cat! HA!

I have a 5-year-old cat who is a bit stand-offish and I have two kittens that are almost a year old. The little ones are all over the place and the older one is not amused by them. They are all tortoise shell calicoes.

  5. My 15 year old cat has OCD. He walks around carpets, won’t cover his poop in the litter box (he’s grossed out by it and just wants to hurry up and get out of there), and whenever one of our family members comes home he goes straight to his food dish and starts frantically eating. He’s quirky, but I love him. ( :
